FUNTE PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: August 13, 2026

This policy explains what we do with your information, and with your child's, when you use funte.co, send us the form, buy a package, or work with us on a room. It is written to be read, so if anything in it is unclear, ask us and we will explain it properly. If anything in our Terms of Service disagrees with this policy about your information, this policy is the one that applies.

Funte is operated by G4 Ventures Inc., trading as Funte, from 48-3012 Murray St, Port Moody, British Columbia V3H 1X2, Canada. We are the ones responsible for your information. Laura Gallo is accountable for privacy at Funte, and you can reach her, and us, at hi@funte.co or +1 604-358-2430.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT, WHY, AND WHAT LETS US DO IT

When you browse funte.co. Our store runs on Shopify, which records your IP address, your device and browser, and the pages you look at, so the site works and stays secure. Our reason is our legitimate interest in running a working, safe website.

When you send us the form. Your name, email, phone number, country, which package you are interested in, the room type, the room size, your budget range, and whatever you write in the message. We use it to answer you and to send you our packages. Our reason is our legitimate interest in replying to someone who asked us to, and taking the steps you asked for before a contract.

When you buy. Your billing details and what you bought. Your card is handled by our payment provider and never reaches us. Our reason is performing our contract with you, and for the tax records, a legal obligation. We and Shopify also use it to check an order is genuine and to stop fraud, and our reason there is our legitimate interest in not being defrauded.

If you make an account. Your email address, how you sign in, and your order history. You do not need an account to buy from us or to work with us, and nothing on our site pushes you into one. Our reason is performing our contract with you.

When we design your room. Measurements, photographs of the space, your brief, your inspiration images, and information about the child the room is for. Section 2 covers that part on its own. Our reason is performing our contract with you.

If you tick the marketing box. We email you about what we offer. Our reason is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time without giving one.

Giving us your details is up to you. Nothing on the site makes you. But we design remotely and we never visit your space, so if you do not give us measurements and photographs, we cannot design your room, and that is the only consequence of saying no.

We do not make any decision about you automatically. A person reads every enquiry.

2. YOUR CHILD'S INFORMATION

We design children's rooms, so we hold information about children. We would rather say that plainly than hide it in a sentence about age limits.

We do not collect anything from children. funte.co is for adults, we never ask a child for anything, and nothing on this site is aimed at one.

A parent or guardian gives us the information instead. To design a room properly we usually need the child's first name or what you call them, their age, their height, what they are into, how they use the room, and anything they need the room to do for them. Sometimes you send us photographs of the room and of the child in it.

We use it to design the room and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, we never add a child to a marketing list, and we never put a child's details into an advertising tool.

Please send us only what the room needs. If a photograph would tell us the same thing with the child out of the frame, send that one.

You can ask us to delete it. Email hi@funte.co and we will, subject only to what we have to keep for tax and legal reasons. You do not have to give a reason and there is no charge.

3. OUR PORTFOLIO

When a project is finished we may show the design in our portfolio, on this site, and on social media. We publish the drawings and the renders of the room. We never publish your surname, your address, photographs of your family, or anything that identifies your home, and where we use a first name that is all it is. If you would rather we used a different name, or none, tell us at hi@funte.co and we will change it.

4. WHO ELSE SEES YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your information, and we never have.

We use a small number of companies to run the business, and each one only sees what it needs:

Shopify, in Canada and the United States, which hosts this store, runs the checkout, and keeps your order.

Our payment providers, who take the payment and hold the card details we never see.

The company that delivers our contact form to our inbox, based in the United States, which passes your enquiry to us and does not keep it.

Google Workspace, for our email and for the drive where project files are stored.

Our own client management system, which we run ourselves, where an enquiry becomes a project.

Our e signature provider, in the United States, when you sign a Design Services Agreement.

Meta, which receives information about your visit and about your order through the Facebook and Instagram tools we use for advertising. Some of it is sent from your browser and some from our store, and where an order is involved that includes a scrambled version of your email address. In the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom we ask you first and we do not send it if you say no. Section 6 explains how.

We also share information where the law requires it, to establish or defend a legal claim, or if Funte is ever sold or merged into another company, in which case your information moves along with the rest of the business and we will tell you. That is the whole list. Nobody else gets your information.

Shopify's own part in this. Shopify hosts the store, so it processes your information for us, but for some of its own features it decides what to do with information itself rather than acting on our instructions. For those, Shopify is the one to ask. Its policy is at shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users, and you can exercise your rights with Shopify directly at privacy.shopify.com.

When you follow a link away from us. Your shopping list points at furniture shops and suppliers, and our pages link to Instagram and Pinterest. Once you are on somebody else's site, their privacy policy applies and ours does not, so it is worth a look before you buy anything or sign up for anything.

5. WHERE IT GOES, AND HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We are in Canada and some of the companies above are in the United States, so your information leaves the country you live in. Canada has an adequacy decision from the European Commission, which means the European Union has decided Canadian law protects your information properly. Where information goes somewhere without one, it is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK equivalent.

We do not keep things forever:

Orders, invoices and tax records, six years from the end of the tax year they belong to, because Canadian tax law says so and we have no choice about it.

Your project files, including everything you told us about your child, while your project is open and for two years after it closes, which is how long a claim about our work can be brought in British Columbia.

An enquiry that does not become a project, until it is clear you are not going ahead, and in any case no longer than two years.

A record of you agreeing to marketing, or asking us to stop, three years after we last work together, because we have to be able to show it if we are asked.

Designs and renders we use in our portfolio, for as long as we use them, with nothing in them that identifies you.

6. COOKIES AND TRACKING

Shopify sets a few cookies this site cannot work without, for your cart and for security. Those are the only ones we cannot turn off, and they are not used to advertise to you.

We also advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we use Meta's tools to see which of our ads brought somebody to us. That happens two ways. One runs in your browser while you look at the site. The other sends the fact of an order from our store to Meta after you buy, including a scrambled version of your email address, which lets Meta match the sale to an ad without us handing over your address in the clear.

In the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, neither one happens unless you agree to it in the banner. You can change your mind at any time through the same banner. Saying no changes nothing about your project, your order, or how the site works for you. Outside those places you can stop it in your browser or in your Meta account settings.

7. WHAT YOU CAN ASK US TO DO

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email hi@funte.co. We will not charge you and we will not treat you any differently for asking.

If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also ask us to restrict what we do with your information, object to us using it, and receive it in a portable file. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not undo anything we did before you withdrew it.

We answer within 30 days. We may need to check you are who you say you are first.

If you are unhappy with us, tell us first at hi@funte.co, because most things are quicker to fix that way. You can also complain to a regulator, and you do not have to come to us first:

In Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, priv.gc.ca

In the European Union or the European Economic Area, the data protection authority where you live

In the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk

8. HOW WE LOOK AFTER IT

We keep your information on a small number of business accounts, each protected by a strong password and two factor authentication, and only the people working on your project can open your files. No system is perfect and we will not pretend otherwise, so please do not send us anything highly sensitive by email.

9. MARKETING, AND HOW TO STOP IT

We only send marketing to people who ticked the box, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link in it that works. You can also just reply and say stop. We act on it straight away and within ten business days at the outside.

Replies about your own project are not marketing and unsubscribing does not stop them.

10. CHANGES

If we change this policy we update the date at the top and post the new version here. If a change matters to you, we will tell you.
